Welcome to "Pam's Peregrinations", my 366 Photo Project when I am aiming to post a photo every day during 2012. I've been inspired by my cousin, Sarah McMichael, who did this for 2011 and whose photos are outstanding - check out http://sarahmcmichael.blogspot.com/ I don't expect mine to be as good quality but I hope it'll be fun. Enjoy! If you like this you might like to visit the next blog for 2013: www.pamsrandoms.blogspot.co.uk

Day 291: Horse sculpture by Andy Scott at Greenlaw
This is a silvery sculpture taken in the pouring rain!
It's done by the same guy, Andy Scott, as Day 163 and he's
also famous for the M8 horse (which I prefer)

Day 283: Glasgow Grand Central Station Hotel
Central Station, the main train hub of Glasgow was opened by Caledonian Railways
in 1879 with the neighbouring Central Hotel opening just 4 years later.
The hotel was designed by Scottish architect
Robert Rowand Anderson in Queen Anne style.
The world's first long-distance television pictures were transmitted
to the Central Hotel in the station, on 24 May 1927 by John Logie Baird.
The hotel was sold by British Rail in the 1980s, and passed through the hands of
various private operators until its most recent owner, the Real Hotel Group,
went into administration in February 2009, and the hotel subsequently
closed amid concerns of asbestos contamination and structural deterioration.
In June 2009, a new company acquired the hotel building, and planned to
refurbish and rebrand it as the Glasgow Grand Central Hotel.
The refurbished hotel re-opened in September 2010.
